Hi. My name is Richard and I enjoy taking photographs. In May 2010 I bought my first DSLR for this purpose; a Nikon D3000- Nikon's entry level model at the time which I upgraded not much later to a D7000.
I play around with it. I take a fair few photos but I've no real clue what I'm doing from a technical perspective. I've invested in some reasonable amateur gear and I need to learn how to use it. I've got to the point where I certainly can't blame inadequacy of kit for the fact that my photos don't come out how I want.
To that end, this blog is intended as a chronicle of my bumbling efforts at taking good photos; my learning curve, my speculation, questions, discoveries and, hopefully, improvements. It is definitely intended as a forum for critique. If my focus is soft on a landscape shot, weigh in and tell me what I should have done instead.
Basically I'm feeling my way so anything anyone has to say that may shed light on any of it is definitely welcomed.
Dear Richard - You have some great photos here. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Duncan Smith and I'm a self-employed travel writer. I'm currently preparing a guidebook for Vienna, which I will self-publish later this year. I need a photo of the library (Prunksaal) in the Hofburg and Vienna, and I see you have a nice shot at Wikipedia, here. Might I be able to use it in my book with a suitable photo acknowledgement and a free copy of the book for you? No problem if not. Hope you don't mind my asking. Keep up the good work - Duncan
